Music has our soul… it can dial directly into our hearts, guts, and imagination. And yet, when we build characters or pull-on heroes or idols they are always from film or tv and for some who still read – books. There are characters born of songs that have been etched into the fabric of our culture, ones that we want to fall in love with, others who we want to be and some who we already are.

I want to you to find songs that have danced through your heart and soul and then become the characters in them. Let them break free of the lyrics and take on lives that can breathe, kiss and cry. I’ll guide you through exercises to expand, connect and deepen the core qualities but it will be on you to find the nuances of how they express themselves.

The emotional foundation has already been laid… these songs have carried us through breakups, pushed us to fight when our bodies wanted to give up and delivered us to the lips we longed for… now let your acting give them the chance to live. There will be music, dance and scene work.
