I, at times in my life, have felt asleep while awake. Going about my day but not really in it. Almost like I was outside of myself watching myself wake up, get dressed, drive, talk to people, eat, watch TV, and return to bed – unaffected. This state is more akin to somnambulism, which is literally a person who walks and performs complex behaviors while asleep – a sleepwalker. I would now say I was experiencing disassociation or possibly even spirit dispossession.

Anyway, since studying and practicing, dream work and active imagination and Buddhist Mediation and somatics and shamanism and alchemy… this whole mixed-nut and berry bag of approaches to spiritual-conscious-integration, I happily can report – yes, we are sleepwalking… mostly. But the gifts can outweigh the consequences if you are willing to let go of a few accepted norms

There is more going on than that which you can see, consume, or control. You are a conscious character in a story, sorry to say, that is not entirely about you. There is indeed a flow in which everything, EVERYTHING, is moving and you are moving within it. You can see/experience the story and flow… perhaps even navigate it with ‘spiritual gestures’ and ‘emotional invitations’ which we most commonly do through art or the creative act.

In this class – exploration, I will invite your unconscious to open one eye in your waking life and give you glimpses of the story and the flow. I will share the inner perspective shifts that allow for a ‘bridge awareness’ existing in both dream and wakefulness simultaneously… the metaphor and imagery comes to life and suddenly what was once synchronicity, coincidence, Déjà vu, inexplicable, God’s work, etc. etc. becomes currents of the story flow in which you are moving. You begin to see the translucence of life with a more tangible sense of emotional life and a less fixed belief in the material life. Oh, and your creativity explodes.
