SELF TAPES

six W E E K Z O O M intensive

…aren’t just practice anymore—they’re often the audition. And in a sea of submissions, the goal isn’t just to be good. It’s to stand out—and book the job.

Casting is watching hundreds of tapes. Most are solid. Most are safe. And most are forgettable.

So what makes them stop—and what makes them lean in?

In this class, we focus on the choices that get you noticed and remembered. Not by forcing something flashy, but by bringing specificity, presence, and a point of view that feels undeniable. We’ll work on how to make bold, grounded choices that separate you from everyone else reading the same lines.

Because booking isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being the most compelling version of the role in front of them.

I’ve also been on the other side of the table—working in casting—and that perspective changes everything. I’ve seen firsthand what makes a tape rise to the top, what gets skipped, and what actually leads to callbacks and bookings. It’s not always what actors think. Sometimes it’s a small, specific choice. Sometimes it’s the ability to stay present and adjust. And sometimes it’s simply that the actor made me feel something real.

We’ll use that insight to your advantage. We’ll break down scripts with a casting lens—what keeps them watching, what makes a performance feel alive, and how to avoid the generic choices that blend into the pile. You’ll learn how to take risks that feel true, not pushed—so your work lands as confident instead of try-hard.

We’ll also dig into the business—how to build relationships with casting, take adjustments without tightening up, and understand what they’re actually looking for when they’re making final decisions.

The goal is simple: submit tapes that feel undeniable. The kind that make casting pause, rewind, and bring your name into the conversation.

Because at the end of the day, booking comes down to this—

you made them feel something they couldn’t ignore.
